A Brief History of Pembina Valley Containers

PVC was established in 1979 as a direct result of the industrialization of Southern Manitoba. Plants such as Tupperware, 3M and Buhler Industries (Farm King) required comprehensive waste management which included large volume containers with recycling options.

In 1988 PVC, along with the aid of the Provincial Government, initiated rural Manitoba's first cardboard recycling program. Depots where also setup to collect aluminum steel and plastics which were then baled for shipment to various markets.

Industrial and commercial growth in the Pembina Valley region continued to thrive and in 1990 PVC ventured into roll off bins and the portable toilet business. For construction sites, portable toilets and roll off containers are a must.

In 1998 Brandon Waste & Recycling began service in the Brandon and Westman area servicing commercial and industrial clients.

In 2009, we added our fire log briquette machine to turn waste wood into an environmentally responsible fuel source that can easily replace natural wood or coal in boilers. This is a win win situation for the consumer and the environment as it takes materials that would end up in the landfill and turns them into a value added product

In 2015 Pembina Valley containers was purchased by Jake and Barb Penner . With this we now offer shingle recycling, wood recycling, plus now offer wood mulch, compost and RAS (Recycled Asphalt Shingles) for sale to the public.

In conclusion, our companies have grown along with these most progressive regions in Manitoba to anticipate, meet and even exceed its waste & recycle handling requirements, while keeping our stewardship of the environment a priority. We believe in our special needs employees who, along with the rest of our valued employees help us fulfill our motto, Good Stewardship is Good Business.
